Stocks new record, Sensex 36 thousand and Nifty crosses 11 thousand

The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also gained 79.40 points, or 0.72 percent, to the highest level of 11,045.60.


MUMBAI: The BSE benchmark Sensex crossed 36,000 mark for the first time after a few hours of trading in IT, everyday consumer goods (FMCG) and metal companies' shares so far. The Nifty crossed 11,045 points. Touched the new height 


The Sensex, based on 30-share Sensex, rose 253.85 points, or 0.70 per cent, to new level of 36,051.86 points, after some time of early trading. 

At the same time, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty rose by 79.40 points, or 0.72 percent, to the highest level of 11,045.60. 

Brokers said the market has reached a new height by stabilizing the global trend, foreign capital flows and trading on February 1 before the budget.

Tata Steel, Infosys, Dr Reddy's, Mahindra & Mahindra, ONGC, SBI, Bharti Airtel, Coal India, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma, ITC Ltd, Axis Bank, HDFC Ltd, NTPC and Sensex and Nifty to take the new height. L & T shares played a big role.
