Budget proposals of Rs 15,374 crore in Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government is aiming to become an economy of 1000 billion dollars by 2025 on the strength of the increase in sectors like agriculture, textiles, tourism and start-up.Budget presented today in assembly


Mumbai / New Delhi: Maharashtra's Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar presented a budget of estimated revenue deficit of Rs 15,374 crore for 2018-19 today. A total of Rs 3.01 lakh crore budget has improved in infrastructure, enhancing agriculture and irrigation facilities and employment generation.

In this budget presented in the state assembly, the revenue deficit of Rs 15,374 crore is estimated in the next financial year. The Maharashtra government is aiming to become an economy of 1000 billion dollars by 2025 on the strength of the increase in sectors like agriculture, textiles, tourism and start-up.

Revenue expenditure of Rs
2.86 lakh crore in revenue expenditure budget of Rs 3.01 lakh crore and revenue expenditure of 3.01 lakh crore is estimated. In this, Rs 10,828 crore has been provided for development of roads while provision of Rs 7235 crore for electricity infrastructure has been made.

Mungantiwar said in his fourth budget speech, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Indian economy should be worth $ 5000 billion by 2025. We have therefore targeted the contribution of Maharashtra to 1000 billion dollars in the national economy. " He said that this goal will be achieved through an increase in areas like agriculture, textiles, tourism and startup.
