Gold rises to seven-week high: 31,000
In Delhi, 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 30,750 and Rs 30,600 per 10 grams, respectively.
New Delhi: Continuous rise in gold is continuing. Gold prices strengthened for the third consecutive day in the Delhi Sarafa Bazaar today due to signs of recovery from the global markets and the rise in shopping in local markets. Gold prices rose by Rs 100 to Rs 30,750 per 10 gram in seven weeks.
In Delhi, gold of
99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 30,750 and Rs 30,600 per 10 grams, respectively. In the last two trading sessions, the gold price has increased by 175 paise. However, the eight-gramy Ginni stood at Rs 24,700 per unit.
Gold in the global market
Besides, besides strong global cues, the demand for local jewelers in softening of the dollar and domestic spot market has strengthened gold. Globally, gold in New York rose by 1.17 per cent to USD 1,377.40 an ounce and silver by 1.44 per cent to $ 17.21 an ounce in global markets.
