Minor decline in gold, silver glow diminishes

Traders said firming up of the gold metal prices in the dollar has come under pressure and it has come close to a low of five weeks.


Gold Price slightly down, silver also dips
New Delhi: Today, there is a slight decline in the price of gold and it has remained at a level below 32500. Gold prices fell by Rs 50 to Rs 32,400 per ten gram in the national capital today on the weak global trend and demand from domestic jewelers.

Why fall in gold gold
traders said that the dollar has been under pressure on gold prices firmly and it has come close to the low level of five weeks. Besides, the weak demand of domestic jewelers and retailers also put pressure on the prices.

Gold in global and domestic markets, the
national capital, Delhi, 99.9 percent and 99.5 percent purity fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 32,400 and Rs 32,250 per 10 gram respectively. However, the eight-gram gini remained at Rs 24,800 per unit. In yesterday's trade, gold had risen to Rs 225. Globally, gold fell 0.54 per cent to $ 1,322.60 an ounce in New York yesterday.

Silver also
fell by Rs 150 to Rs 40,550 per kg on reduced offtake by the weakening coin coinciding with silver and industrial units. In the global market, silver in Singapore dropped 0.96 per cent to $ 16.51 an ounce. Silver coins fell by Rs 150 to Rs 40,550 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 150 to Rs 39,425 per kg.

Silver coins, however, remained steady at Rs 75,000 and Rs 76,000 per kg respectively.
